[elinks-dev] [ANNOUNCE] ELinks maintainer change

  Hello,

I would like to announce a personal movement inside of the thin tank
circle. I step down as the ELinks maintainer and instead appoint
honorable Mr. Jonas Fonseca to this function(), passing over all the
weapons of mass destruction access codes etc.

I was suffering the burn-out syndrome for quite some time already -
ELinks wasn't that much interesting for me over the time anymore, and
the maintainership and skimming over all the patches became very boring
too, I started losing interest and motivation, the patch queue grew as
the releases started to lag. This already happened the last year but
now it was going much worse for many reasons.

I was planning the maintainer change for quite some time already and
the personal choice shouldn't be a surprise for anyone involved, I hope.
I originally hoped to get at least 1.0 out but given the massive amount
of unreviewed changes stocking up on HEAD, I just had to gave up. Jonas
was author of many if not most of these changes, so he should have so
much better idea of what's going on etc.

This doesn't mean I'm going out of the scene for once and all, I will
still try to have my say in various discussions and hope to still
contribute some good stuff - stepping down from the maintainership will
actually enable me to actually _code_ something up.

Note also that I thought about offering some real commercial ELinks
support, the main limiting factor now being that I have no idea if it
would make any sense and whether anyone would actually buy it. I have
some good and bad experiences. The good one is in THANKS, the bad one is
with Siemens people - I coded a thing on their request (for free, but
that makes it only worse) and they never ever get back to me to at least
say "Thanks".

I'm getting out of control in my scribing again, as usual. So, be nice
to Jonas. And I don't want to hear a single word of thanks (and a single
word of bug report ;)) anymore, Jonas wants to hear you all!

  Happy hacking forever,
